Day 8: Planned for God’s Pleasure

Do you even still wonder what on earth we are here for?

We were planned for God’s pleasure. God did not need to create us, but he chose to create us for his enjoyment.

Bringing enjoyment to God, living for his pleasure, it is our first purpose of life. Similar with us as we were created in his image, God also has feelings, has emotions. He grieves, he gets jealous, feels pity, sorrow, he loves, he even laughs.

We do our purpose of bringing pleasure to him through Worship. Anything that we do that brings pleasure to God is an act of worship. Everything we do in the church are worship. When we pray, we kneel, the communion, the candles, the offering, all are acts of worship. Worship is far more than expressions, it is a lifestyle.

People often mistakenly refer worship with music. Worship predates music. There’s no style of music that refers to worship, even the pace, the volume, if it’s fast or slow. There’s even no such thing as Christian music, only songs with Christian lyrics.

Worship is not for our benefit. When we worship, it is not for us to feel so overwhelm or enjoyed. We worship for God’s benefit. God’s heart is not touched by tradition in worship, even with the people offering stale prayers, insincere praise, empty words, and man-made rituals, it is by passion and commitment.

Worship is not part of our life, it is our life. We worship God continually and praise him from sunrise to sunset. Every activity can be transformed into an act of worship when we do it for God’s glory. “Whether you eat or drink, whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God”

How is it possible to everything to the glory of God? By doing everything as if you were doing it for Jesus and by carrying a continual conversation with him while you do it. “Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for men.”

The secret to a lifestyle of worship – doing everything as if you were doing it for Jesus. “Take your everyday, ordinary life – your sleeping, eating, going-to-work, and walking-around life – and place it before God as an offering”

All things becomes worship even when we work when we dedicate it to God and perforn it with awareness of his presence.

Lord God, I thank you for allowing me to understand what I need to do in order to bring back all the glory to you. Help me Lord to remain steadfast as I continue to live my life worshipping you. Amen.
